| stapler FAQ
| | | All staplers on this page require an air compressor.
| | | The compressor should be capable of producing 100 PSI. These staplers do not require a large volume of air, except for the automatic models. A 1/2 HP or larger model with a 2 gallon storage tank will provide adequate air volume.
| | | Rainco staplers are numbered as follows: example R1B 7C-16 : R1B is the frame of the tool, 7C is the staple series (#7), 16 is the maximum length of staples it will shoot in millimeters. R1B staplers are the updated version of R1A staplers.
| | | Fasco staplers are numbered as follows: example F1B 7C-16 : F1B is the frame of the tool, 7C is the staple series (#7), 16 is the maximum length of staples it will shoot in millimeters. F1B staplers are the updated version of F1A staplers.
| | | Regular nose staplers have a "nose" 7/8" or 1" long.
| | | Long nose staplers have a "nose" 2" long to reach into tight spaces, for drapery work, etc.
| | | Standard staplers drive one staple each time the trigger is pulled.
| | | "Automatic" staplers drive staples as long as the trigger is held (like a machine gun).
| | | Some tools are available with "long" magazines. Long-mag models hold more staples for less-frequent reloading, but are harder to maneuver in re-upholstering uses.
